Eligibility -MBBS
General Merit candidates should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject and must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB. In addition, in the Common Entrance Test, must have secured not less than 50% marks in PCB.
SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject and must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 40% of marks taken together in PCB. In addition, in the Common Entrance Test, must have secured not less than 40% marks in PCB. He/she shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the MBBS course.
BDS:
General Merit candidates should have passed qualifying exam which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent exam recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject must have passed the subject and individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB. He/she shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the BDS course. There is no Common Entrance Test for admission during the year 2009-2010.
SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka a minimum of 40% of marks taken together in PCB. All other requirements are same as applicable for General Merit candidates.
B.E:
General Merit candidates, the minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent qualifying Examination recognized by State / Central Government with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM). Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Computer Science or Biology or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. English as one of the language of study is compulsory. There is no minimum marks fixed for entrance test. Hence all candidates who have taken the entrance test will find a place in the merit list as per their performance.
SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka the aggregate marks in PCM should be not less than 40% in the qualifying examination as mentioned above.
B. Arch
A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination (2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination) with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and having obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in case of SC, ST and OBC Candidates of Karnataka. Further the candidate should have appeared for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture with a minimum score of 80 out of 200 for both general merit and category candidates.
Under-Graduate Medical, Dental and
Engineering Courses Start Dates
- M.B.B.S. and B.D.S. courses are
scheduled to begin from 01/08/2009
- B.E. and B.Arch. courses are
scheduled to begin from 01/09/2009.
The recent passport size photographs to be provided have to be identical. It should not be more than 6 months old. Application with smudged/tampered or hazy photograph will not be accepted. Any application received not adhering to these specifications will be rejected without any clarifications and no refund will be made. The decision of the COMEDK Committee on this would be final and binding.
The completed Application Form has to reach COMEDK office by post or courier on or before Saturday the 11th April 2009 to the following address.
